24 Hour Solo - Bike race

It's on Saturday May 7th

Back for a second time in May, not for the faint hearted. An endurance event that will test even the fittest mountain bikers, the last man (or women) standing takes the crown. High Summer

High summer walking and exploring. The hillsides will be full of local orchids and rare wild flowers. Holm Hill has SSI status and at the last count had 8 rare orchids, see if you can spot them.

Copshaw Common Riding

It's on Saturday July 2nd - All Day

You need to see this to believe it – but once seen never forgotten! The first weekend in July sees the locals ride the village boundaries, as only they know how! Visitors are welcome to follow the fun, which starts with a local hound trail at 7:32am and finishes with the lowering of the colours in the village square circa 7:32pm once all the frivolities are over. www.copshawcommonriding.co.uk

Traditional Music Festival

It's on Friday July 1st to Sunday July 3rd - All Day

The beginning of July heralds the return of the Newcastleton Traditional Music Festival. We welcome hundreds of visitors to the Holm who come to participate or just join in the singsongs in all the pubs and bars. The riverside is awash with tents and campers all weekend. www.newcastleton.com

Kielder 100 - Mountain Bike Event

It's on Saturday September 3rd

The valleys and hills are awash with different shades of autumn gold. Breathtakingly spectacular, fabulous for the keen photographer.

Crispy and frosty!

Crispy, cold frosty mornings. Keep your eyes peeled, the local wildlife will be foraging for winter feed supplies. The red squirrels are particularly active this time of year in the forest. Folklore says that if the berry harvest is plentiful then we will have a severe winter ahead of us, which was true last year and Yethouse was heavenly surrounded by snow!

Christmas!

Come and enjoy a truly memorable Christmas at Yethouse. We provide the tree and the trimmings. The house is perfect for a Christmas to remember and you can even roast some chestnuts in a real fire.
