Cycling & the 7Stanes Mountain Bike Trails............ on your doorstep

NEWCASTLETON LOVES BIKES.

We are known as the ‘bike friendly village’. We use bikes for common riding, held every year in July—a sight and experience that will live with you forever, defining village boundaries has never seen the like!

Common riding - annual rideout from Douglas Square

We applauded as the TOUR OF BRITAIN, riders raced through the village.

Our bike routes host the KIELDER 100 held annually the first weekend in September — one hundred miles of continuous riding across the SCOTLAND ENGLAND border, not for the faint hearted.

2010 will see the launch of the UK’S FIRST 24 HOUR SOLO event in May at the 7STANES Newcastleton.

Whether you, your mates or the family are occasional riders or fanatics we have safe, family trails, on and off road routes, waymarked or just miles of quiet roads, tracks and countryside. Whatever appeals you will find it in Newcastleton and be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.

Bike hire is available locally for those of you who want to give the trails a try.   Days out can be arrange with our local activity centre Rock UK.  Yethouse has negotiated special offers for Rock UK - check out their page on this site.

We offer secure lock up and washing facilities for bikes, please request this on your booking form.
