The Borders is infamous for its savage warring families who fought and foraged for generations across the region. The best way to understand its history and see its famous sites is to follow the Reivers Trail.

We are fortunate to have many beautiful historical houses, gardens and locations in easy reach. Some examples are highlighted but there are many, many more to explore.
Selkirk—the site of the first Border Abbey and where William Wallace, was declared guardian of Scotland. Jedburgh— see the famous Abbey and sample their unique ‘snails’. Hawick—visit the Heart of Hawick and search out your family connections in the state of the art genealogy centre.

Further afield visit the World Heritage site of Hadrian's Wall a truly memorable experience with breath taking scenery.
