Read some glowing reviews of the holiday cottage by our guests:
A beautiful house in lovely surroundings. Enjoyed an introduction to mountain biking - the purple and blue runs are great for novices! Thank you for everything.
As seasoned walkers/bikers/cottage-stayers, I think its fair to say we have truely fallen in love with what we can only describe as a hidden gem in an area that must be Scotland's best kept secret. We felt like we had come home when we walked into Yethouse - it has stories to tell, views to delight, wonderful gardens and all the bits and pieces we could possibly ask for, and which are missing from some cottages. We have been made to feel very welcome, especially William - who was awarded a special certificate for completing his first 27 miler around Kielder Lake. So much to do on the doorstep, you dont need to venture too far. Try Kielder Water - a beautiful tranquil circuit, don't miss Rock UK for a fantastic family day out (the zip-wire is awesome!!) We may just have to break our rule of never visiting the same place twice!!
Thank you for letting me have the best room. i had a fab time. Thank you for my awesum certificate. i love Dick & Spot. William (William cycled the whole of the waters edge cycle route at Kielder, a distance of over 27 miles! AGED 7!!)
Fantastic range of cycling options for the 7stanes routes through the forest to cross-border trail to Kielder, and the disused old Waverley line route towards Hawick. Great to come back to a cosy, warm, well –equipped cycling-friendly cottage. Thank you for a great break.
Found Yethouse on VisitScotland and had a good feeling about it. We were not disappointed. Ran out of good things to say, Barbara has thought of everything - a place with massive amounts of charm and all the modern amenities. To finish the red route on a cold, wet day and come straight into a wonderful hot shower with a cup of tea after - it doesn't get better than that! MTB Heaven.
Even Smudge ( a black lab who thinks he's a gun dog) flushed out a few birds on the walks up at Dykecrofts. Other stuff: Hadrian's Wall good to see and found a nice pitstop at Lanercost Priory, near Brampton. Snowing on our last night! Great place, highly recommended.
We have stayed in many properties over the last 12 years but this beats them all. Everything has been thought about carefully and the comfort and quality is to the highest standard. One of the best things is that it still feels like ‘home’. So many rental properties are soul less and minimalistic.
The area is brilliant for walks and quaint villages and everyone we have had contact with in Newcastleton has been so friendly.
For a really special meal ask Barbara how to find “Fantails Restaurant”, well worth the 45 minute journey.
Our dogs have loved the forest and the enclosed garden is a real bonus. Barbara & Paul could not be more helpful and I am sure that within a few years so many people like us will pay a return visit that it may be difficult to get a booking!
What a wonderful change to find a home with lots of lights, plus sockets and best of all the WI-FI that works!!!
Lovely short break, house was fantastic. Great walks and bike rides on your doorstep. Rock UK has great facilities and very reasonable prices; they are getting a record-breaking zip-line in time for the summer!
This place is very nice. We want to come again (Lauren) I like this place, mum loves the kitchen, the view is lush and I like all the bedrooms (Ellen)
A fabulous time in a fabulous house. Beautifully appointed and decorated to a very high standard, with all the bits & bobs you could possible want. We particularly enjoyed the ‘eclectic music collection! Will definitely recommend the house to friends and family. I arrived very tired and distraught having been delayed by all the bad weather. Apart from a walk to the village every day (coffee in the Olive tree cafe) we spent all our time in the house. How lovely to relax by a real fire, what a delight also to see such big artwork on the walls. Thank you Barbara for your welcome and Christmas goodies for our belated celebrations. We rested and were enchanted by the house, the landscape and the people here.
What an enchanting spot for our reunion tour! When Vic told me about this place I looked on the website and then received our information pack, I was excited and intrigued about the prospect of spending a week at Yethouse. I can truly say that it exceeded all our expectations.
The house is lovely and comfortable and we felt completely at home here. Sitting by the roaring fire and cooking in the well equipped kitchen was a delight. The local scenery is breathtaking as well. Thanks so much for the homemade jam and bread – we thoroughly enjoyed everything.
We have stayed in many B&B’s and cottages stateside and in Germany , this is the best one yet!

A great house for a big family Christmas- a better equipped kitchen than my own! With an oven that could accommodate a 29lb turkey!! The house had enough space for 17 people and at the same time was cosy and homely. A fabulous find.
