The fantastic Scottish Borders scenery surrounding Yethouse will appeal to those who like to blow away the cobwebs out in the fresh air. The many walks will keep you busy, or perhaps some mountain biking would appeal? The world-renowned 7stanes mountain biking trails are just up the road. For the really adventurous our neighbours are Rock UK, an Activity Centre with kayaking, rock climbing, abseiling, swimming and loads more. Horse-riding, golf and fishing are also available.
If all this sounds far too exhausting then curl up by an open fire in one of the sumptuously furnished living rooms. In the summer months you'll enjoy the private garden listening to the curlew and watching the swifts and swallows swoop. During the winter, things are so cosy and comfortable inside you might not want to leave!
Yethouse has a charm that captivates you from the moment you arrive. Guests leave relaxed and rejuvenated. The house is memorable, couple this with the local scenery and hospitality - which is available all year round - and you are in for a truly fabulous break.
We’ve spent a fabulous 5 days here. Had the most wonderful time, countryside has so much to offer; breath-taking scenery and beautiful walks. Rock UK is a must, especially 300m zip wire over the forest – an amazing experience! Glass blowing @ Hawick was amazing to see. Visited garden centres which served fabulous food, Larch Cottage Gardens near Penrith (1 hr south) beautiful and unusual walled garden with very tasteful art studio and Woodside at Harestanes, near Kelso. Had a great night at Kielder Observatory; super informative and very dark, dark place! Shame there was cloud cover but something to look forward to next time. If you want a good meal out then we can recommend the Grapes Hotel in the village, if you don’t mind a 30 minute drive the Pheasant Inn at Kielder is superb. So much seen, but so much more still to do. Will definitely be back. A super comfortable spacious house for friends & family to share, thank you.
